Strategy with technical depth
Comfortable moving from operating-model and capability questions into information architecture, system integration, standards and implementation risk.
Agile Health Informatics Ltd is a specialist advisory practice led by Dr Tito Castillo, bringing together more than three decades of work across health services, research, data, interoperability, enterprise architecture and regulated technology.
A career spanning scientific computing, clinical research, health informatics, secure research infrastructure, interoperability, enterprise architecture and national-scale transformation.
Comfortable moving from operating-model and capability questions into information architecture, system integration, standards and implementation risk.
Experience spans NHS care delivery, clinical research, national research infrastructure, secure environments and regulated medical software.
Metadata, semantic interoperability, conceptual modelling and data governance have been recurring themes throughout the career.
Work has included architecture working groups, ISO 27001 environments, national health programmes, shared records and provider transformation.

Current engagement supporting enterprise data architecture, data standards, metadata management and semantic interoperability across the Health Service Executive in Ireland.
Current engagement supporting EPR technical readiness through architecture analysis, clinical pathway assessment, dependency analysis, implementation risk and transformation planning.
Led architecture assurance for a large-scale secure healthcare transformation, established and chaired the architecture working group, developed business capability and conceptual information models, and contributed to target operating model development.
Directed architecture for a multi-organisation integrated care record, including semantic mapping across Epic, SystmOne, EMIS and local authority systems.
Designed and operationalised an early ISO 27001-certified secure research computing environment for sensitive epidemiological data.
Held senior informatics leadership roles including IT Director for the NIHR BioResource and CIO for Life Study at UCL Institute of Child Health.
Created a standards-compliant MAGE-ML data pipeline enabling validated experiment submission to EBI ArrayExpress.
Developed and commercialised software to analyse small bowel motility using electrical impedance data, taking research into a regulated clinical product.
Lead front-end developer for PARR++ (Patients At Risk of Rehospitalisation), developed with the King's Fund and distributed nationally.
Formal architecture disciplines support capability modelling, operating models, solution assurance and structured transformation planning.
Professional standing spans data management, health informatics leadership and chartered IT practice.
Security and programme credentials complement practical experience in sensitive health, research and public-sector environments.
The value proposition is not scale. It is the ability to connect business architecture, data, standards, clinical context, governance and technology in a single line of reasoning, while remaining independent enough to challenge weak assumptions.
